A man opened fire on a group of boys playing football in Crotone in southern Italy late Thursday, killing one person and wounding at least five others.

REUTERS - A gunman opened fire on youngsters playing football in Italy late on Thursday, killing one person and wounding between five and 15 more, some seriously, Italian media reported.


Local news agencies and television quoted police in Crotone, southern Italy, saying an unidentified man had opened fire at boys playing football.


The gunman had not been caught and the motive for the shooting was unclear, they said.
