AFP - Iran has arrested eight local staff at the British embassy in Tehran on accusations of having a role in post-election riots, the Fars news agency reported on Sunday.

"Eight members of the local staff at the British embassy who had a considerable role in the recent riots have been arrested," the agency said without quoting a source.

Iran has repeatedly accused Britain of stoking unrest. It has expelled the BBC correspondent in Tehran and arrested a British-Greek journalist, as well as a number of other British passport-holders it says were involved in rioting.

Last week, Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki also said Iran may downgrade ties with Britain, after the two governments expelled diplomats in a tit-for-tat move.

iran embassy staff

Well if they were local embassy staff ,they should have had the intelligence not to get involved in the countries internal policies,as they working for a foriegn country..We in the west have enough ignorance with our broadcast industry,They should keep thier ignorance for its own people ears..ps personally the western broadcasters should get educated ,talking garbage for its own people is acceptable ,its masses are politically ignorant people on foriegn policy..ps these people we have to assume were not on the embassy property, because if educated these premioses are covered by international law,so the days of talking rubbish is long gone ,this is the 21st century, so better educated yourselves accorddingly..

The regime has gone crazy!

It looks like the regime has gone crazy arresting typical staff members! It was always the regime's tactic to blame the west, but as Obama said, this tactic will no longer work.

Round up the usual suspects.

An insurmountable problem with claiming Divine Right, is that the credentials upon which a vicious and murderous regime, such as currently exists in Iran, cannot be reliably challenged, since Allah does not present Himself, to unequivocally support the claim. Therefore, since blame must be attributed. the usual suspects are rounded up.
