Barack Obama, who opposed the 2003 Iraq war, hailed the withdrawal of US troops from Iraqi cities as an "important milestone" but warned of difficult days ahead. How will the Iraqi government deal with this power vacuum?

Bombings in the lead-up to the withdrawal of US forces from Iraq's towns and cities resulted in the bloodiest death toll seen in the conflict-hit nation in 11 months.
Some 437 people were killed in June, government ministries announced as Iraqi forces officially took charge in the nation's urban areas a day after the pullout of US troops, six years after the invasion.
To better understand the Iraqi stalemate, Marw Owen is joined by Henri Barkey from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace.
