In this new edition of the FOCUS programme, FRANCE 24 reports on Obama’s visit to Ghana.

It's Obama-mania in Ghana, as the country gears up for a presidential visit on Friday, his first to sub-Saharan Africa.

During his 24-hour visit Barack Obama will, along with his family, tour one of the continent's former largest slave trading posts.

It's been said he wants to stress the connection between Africa and the rest of the world in the 21st century, choosing Ghana as a 'golden child' of democracy on the continent.

To discuss the report, Hannah Rose Hoexter is joined by Jim Kolbe, senior transatlantic fellow at the German Marshall Fund.
