Israel launches air raid after rocket fired from Gaza

Israel launched an air raid on a building east of Gaza City early on Sunday after a rocket was fired from Gaza at Israeli territory, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.

AFP - Israel early Sunday carried out an air raid on a building to the east of Gaza City after a rocket was fired from Gaza at Israel, Palestinian and Israeli sources said.
   
Palestinian witnesses said an aircraft bombed the building but nobody was hurt.
   
An Israeli army spokeswoman told AFP that the raid targeted "a tunnel constructed under the building aimed at an operation against the Israeli forces stationed on the border with Gaza one and a half kilometres (a mile) from the site."
   
She added that the attack followed the firing of a rocket from the Hamas-run Gaza Strip which hit southern Israel on Saturday without causing any casualties or damage.
