Shame on Total and Chevron! Shame on the governments of France and the US for expressing concern for Burma while turning away from their responsibilty to reign in these companies' greed and criminal neglect. They would have happily done business with Hitler under the same pretexts! The only people they will listen to is their share holders and do they care? We don't know.. we are waiting watching and hoping that the share holders will stand up and say their profit is not worth the suffering it causes. Mr Christophe was quoted as saying his detractors could "go to h..ll" more likely the man himself and all who stand with him. He says Daw Aung San Suu Kyi never asked Total to leave..if she does..will you?
What a surprise to learn that Western corporate money has much to do with the suffering of everyday people in Myanmar while Western politicians direct their castigating remarks elsewhere, away from the Western corporate big wigs collecting their exorbitant salaries and bonuses!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhh yes, capitalist big money.......the beast that only a rare soul can see in the West.
