its really terrible lie that a majority of Iranian have accepted Ahmadinejad as legitimate president. Although this is not first time that this really manipulated so called "news" are presented by you. Ive read lots of biased reports about iran on this website.
if you dont publish my comment then you are exactly same as state TV in Iran. just shame on you because of thousands of people who have been killed, injured, beaten, raped in prison and thrown down from high buildings by these murderer you backing them by publishing these lies. shame on you france24!
So far the only thing we got from this revolution was independence from the west.
We have learned from our elders how to move ahead it has been in the making for a century.
But the time has come for us to get our freedom, and our right place amongst the best nations of the world.
And for taxi drivers I recommend anyone visiting Iran to open a political conversation with them. You would learn a lot from the other passengers too.
Most of taxi driver do it as a second job many of them have university degrees.
I know that AN is just a Politian (and a bad one at that) and he would use any tools at his disposal to win the election.
So would Mousavi , Karoubi , Hashemi and friends.
he had 150$ a barrel what did he do?
Did he get the Russian to start the Bushehr plant?
Did he create jobs?
The only thing he has done right is to get the Arab population behind him
But to say 8/10 consider him legitimate is out of proportion.
civil liberties got better…………………………...48%!!!!!!!!!!!!
Unemployed, looking for work................................6 %
Unemployed, not looking for work..........................3%
I think they called the wrong country!!!! maybe Tajikistan
The green color and the election were just tools in the hands of the people movement to get their freedom, so were the Qods day and the rest of official holydays coming up!
Faced with many scientifically conducted polls by western sources and a massive, 85%, turnout in an election that was won by Ahmadinejad, what are the arguments in support of electoral fraud?! Street protests!? Does anybody in France let street protests determine their president? Do 90% of Iranians living in other cities and rural areas have access to Tehran streets?? What is the point of elections if the result is to be dictated by protests and unrest fomented by the unsatisfied party??
Therefore I think the results of this survey reflect the realities in Iran.
We must face the reality, Ahmadinejad is who Iranians want. this is only one of the polls that confirms Iranian presidential election results. There are polls for example the one before the elections which clearly predicted Ahmadinejad to win by a ratio of 2 to 1 against Mousavi, as the one by Terror Free Tomorrow research center. http://www.terrorfreetomorrow.org/template.php?section=PL
3 months after the elections, Mousavi has not yet produced any fiable and legally acceptable proof of the accusations he made about massive -11 million- electoral fraud.
People who recommend asking taxi drivers in Tehran, whether they believe in the results, simply ignores that taxi drivers are not a representative sample of the Iranian population. Others rely on comments from a select number of mostly upper class citizens to confirm electoral fraud!! These attitudes are utterly unacceptable.
...
I don't want to say that this result was fixed.
But the problem with the poll is that a western standard was used to poll a distinct culture in fearful times.
The best method would be to go to Iran and ask the TAXI DRIVERS.
(anybody that has taken a public taxi in tehran knows what I am saying)
Come to think of it, any of my relatives/friends who we talked to in Iran were really afraid to tell us anything political on the phone in the past few weeks, as they were afraid of government eavesdropping. Obviously, anybody who didn't approve of the government would have been much more afraid to admit that on the phone to a stranger.
If you take a look at the comments posted here, you will realize that result announced by france24 is not correct at least about the number of comments against Mahmoud Ahmadinejad the Killer!!!!!
Yes I agree with this result. If you travel to Iran you can easily find that most Iranian agree with the result of election and they express acceptance of the outcome of the Presidential election. They consider Ahmadinejad to be Iran's legitimate president
HALLUCINATION was the reason for all disputations we encountered in Iran. As you see the people who didn't accept our great elections which was the best opinion poll ever could be held, don't accept these results as well and generaly they are not used to understand the reality. As you know before the elections such opinion polls were held (by american NEWSWEEK ) as well which claimed Dr. Ahmadinejad will gain over 60% of the votes.
anyhow the main question remains to be answered is WHO IS IN CHARGE FOR THE LIVES LOST IN IRAN?

It is an enomous mistake for the Iranians to think that their vote for Moussawi, will make their lives very much better. This is because Moussawi was in league with those who kidnapped western hostages in Beirut, at the time of the Jimmy Carter administration. And Moussawi and Rafsanjani are engaged in the deception of the electorate, so that they can seize power without the need to confront the Revolutionary Guard and the Iranian militia, the Basijis.
I feel sorry for France24. You said that "Eight in 10 Iranians also say they consider President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to be the country's legitimate president despite mass protests". Assume that you live in a country that officials arrest, torture, rape, and kill the persons who share their opinions about election with others. Then, what would be your answer to the questions of an anonymous person who called you? In Quds day, despite all the threats of Khamenei, there were handreds of thousand green people on the streets. You are making all Iranians disappointed.
je ne regarderai plus votre chaine vos informations ne sont plus fiables.

la mojorite des iranians ont choisi m.moussavi et n'ont pas change d'avis
Good to see excellent and accurate reporting - thank you. Despite the Tehran-centric protestors and the extensive (and sometimes exaggerated)coverage they received, the majority did vote Ahmadinejad and the nation standands firmly behind him. The vast, and silent majority who don't have internet access or English language literacy skills to make placards in English targetting foreign media & audiences voted Ahmadinejad. Unlike Moussavi, Ahmadinejad visited nearly every village and faced Iranians and even faced their direct criticism and grievances. The demonstrators caused a lot of damage to property, private and govt. & outside themselves there is no broad support for them. They can't seem to accept this fact. Thank you for excellent reporting.
Charles Smyth is right. I am in Tehran where people really scare to show their opinion. Even myself afraid that the government may sniff what I am sending as a comment to you. Many people have been killed and tortured and are still in prison because of peaceful protest againt the election. I am really shocked that you broadcast this news in your media Sorry for you!

Asking an Iranian in Iran, is akin to asking a North Korean in North Korea, or an Iraqi of the Saddam Hussein era, in Iraq, about whom they support. The level of the ruthless crackdown on any opposition to Mahmoud--the Holocaust is a lie--Ahmadinejad's illegitimate presidency, is sufficiently indicative of his lack of popularity.
Do you know what you say?
Do you know what happen?
Do you know how many sister and brothers have dead?
I know but you dont know. because when you want to see, see anythings.
my president is mosavi.
Do you really believe that more that 3 million people demonstarted 3 days after pres. election in Tehran against Ahmadi-nejad have changed their opinion???!!!!!!
I completely agree with Mohsen. Most of Iranians afraid to reveal their actual opinion. Such polling is not reliable at all. I believe that France24 should not highlight such news which might lead to misunderstanding among the people of the world.
this poll cant be true. reason 1, no one outside iran feels safe to tell the truth. 2: the question is asked from muslims, which has become a synonym for hardliners and terrorists. yes, ahmaninejad is their representative, but he is not iranian's rep. 3: people in iran do not have easy access to websites and polls and news sites. the ones who do are mostly government insiders. the average iranian citizen does not have the facilities and internet proxy programs to reach the poll and vote. 4: I am iranian, I live in iran, I have at least 300 acquaintances, friends and family members, none of whom agree or believe the statements of the poll results. where did 8 out of 10 come from?
this is just another scam for a new deal some country is having with ahmadinejad's government.
I'm strongly sure that the results of this poll is not true ! the reason is clear : If someone abroad calls me and asks me about the election I will surley say that Ahmadinejad is the legitimate president although I'm highly sure that he is not the legitimate president ! the reasen that I answer like this is that I'm scared of government's reaction! I know they might listen to my telephone call !
So you can'r relly on what irannian say on phone ! they fear to answer honestly !

Yeah, and 15 out of every 10 Germans supported Adolf Hitler in 1939, too.
