On September 27, Germany goes to the polls to vote - and vote again - in the federal elections. The nation has one of the most complicated electoral systems, with two votes per person, the rule that any party winning less than 5% gets zero seats in Parliament, and a nightmare called the Überhangmandate. But these peculiarities could make all the difference in this year's election, coming as it does on the heels of the nation's worst financial crisis since WWII. And with the current "grand coalition" in danger of dissolution, almost any combination is possible.
