New Strategy in Afghanistan?

The Washington Post talks about the reactions that followed General Mc Chrystal’s advice.

The US’ top army general urged the Obama administration to increase the number of troops.

And the US Defense Secretary Robert Gates seems to back this idea: “We are not leaving”, he says.

According to the Washington Post, Gates wants “leaders’ war advice, kept private” until the White House takes a decision on its new strategy.

On other news: the natural disasters that have rocked Asia, over the past week.

The Times of India talks about the most “devastating floods in living history”.

More than 200 people died and 2.5 million are left homeless.

The article warns it’s likely to get worse, as a barrage in Eastern India, in Andghra Pradesh is overflowing.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the deaths caused in the series of disasters, could have been “avoided”.
