French Press Review
In today's French papers, we look at the rise of certain politicians in the French government, gambling online and the Simpson's 20th anniversary.
Le Figaro interviewed the Secretary General at the Elysée, Claude Guéant.
He says he would like to see current President Nicolas Sarkozy run away in 2012.
“The leader must continue with his reforms”, he says.
Guéant also talks about the current rumors, that the French prime Minister François Fillon might leave the Government.
But Guéant insists it’s not true. His collaboration with President Sarkozy is going well, he says.
Also in the press review, a look at the rise of Eric Besson, dubbed Sarkozy’s “chouchou”, or “favorite”. The daily Le Parisien did a portrait of the Minister of Immigration.
On other news, plans to privatize gambling games online. The story has made the front pages of two left-wing newspapers, L’Humanité and Libération.
Finally, La Croix looks at “green cinema”, whilst Libération celebrates the Simpsons' 20th anniversary.
