Google apologises for offensive image of Michelle Obama

INTERNATIONAL PRESS REVIEW: A scandal has erupted in the US over the prominence Google has given to a “racist” image of the First Lady.

The number one image of the Michelle Obama on Google Images shows a doctored photo of the US First Lady in the guise of a monkey. The company said it was possible that the image ranked so high because people were linking to it to condemn it. The search engine has apologized for the prominence of the image but refuses to take it down, saying it’s a simple reflection of the content on the web, reports the Washington Post.
