Healthcare vote 'a big victory' for the US, says Obama
President Barack Obama has touted a US Senate vote that inched healthcare reform closer to passage as a "big victory". But the bill still has a long way to go before Obama can sign it into law.

REUTERS - President Barack Obama on Monday heralded a U.S. Senate vote that moved a bill on his signature healthcare reform closer to passage and congratulated lawmakers for defying special interests.
"The United States Senate knocked down a filibuster aimed at blocking a final vote on healthcare reform and scored a big victory for the American people," Obama said after a dead-of-night ballot.
The vote by Democratic senators defeated delaying tactics by their Republican Party opponents as they sought to move the bill to a final vote by Christmas Eve.
"By standing up to the special interests -- who've prevented reform for decades, and who are furiously lobbying against it now -- the Senate has moved us closer to reform that makes a tremendous difference," Obama said.
Once passed, the Senate version of the bill must be reconciled with the House of Representatives' own bill on healthcare reform. Lawmakers then vote again on the amalgamated legislation, which, if it is passed, would be sent to Obama to sign into law.

This healthcare getting voted through is b/s!! the gov, officials bribed certain representatives of certain states to get them to vote this through. We americans have and had NO say in this matter. The gov., is to speak for us, and yet all this government has done since obama has been president or so called president is go AGAINST us americcans!! Most or alot and I mean alot does NOT want obama as president anymore, hes not done a dam thing but run his mouth about what he wants to accomplish, and never follows through. He does NOT have us americans in the thoughts of what he proposes. He is trying to make this government a socialist government. He needs to be impeached NOW!!
