US skier Bode Miller will miss Bormio on Dec. 29 due to an ankle injury but the double Cristal Globe winner hopes to be fit for the Vancouver Olympics in February.
America’s Bode Miller will miss the world championship stage in Bormio on Dec 29 after sustaining an ankle injury playing volleyball in Val D’Isere two weeks ago. Despite this, the double Cristal Globe winner (2005-2008) is still hoping to be able to take part in the February Olympics in Vancouver.
“It’s a new challenge starting so late in the year. It’s been tough with my injuries. I have got an ankle injury and it’s pretty serious, but it has been improving. My form should be peaking in time for the Olympics”, said Miller in an interview.
Bode took part in his first Olympic Games in 2002, finishing second in downhill and combined. Four years later in Turin, he finished in 5th place in downhill.
