It has been a year since Israel began an offensive against the Palestinian territory of Gaza. The assault lasted for 22 days before a ceasefire was called. Over a 1000 palestinians and 13 israelian were killed. Since then, Gaza, run by the Islamist movement Hamas, has remained under Israeli blockade.
