England star David Beckham attracted crowds to AC Milan's training complex after arriving in Italy for the start of his second stint at the Serie A club. The club doctor said Beckham was in “fine fettle” after recovering from an ankle injury.

REUTERS - David Beckham has recovered from a bruised right ankle bone and is in fine fettle, an AC Milan doctor said on Tuesday after the England midfielder's second day of training since returning to the Serie A side.

"I found David Beckham really well," doctor Massimo Manara told the club's in-house television channel.

"Even though a year has passed, he looked to be at the same level as a year ago to me. The problem he had with his right foot in previous weeks is resolved."

Beckham has returned to Milan on loan from the Los Angeles Galaxy to boost his chances of making England's World Cup squad after a successful stint at the Italian club last season. He had trouble with his ankle in the run-up to the Major League Soccer Cup final, which the Galaxy lost to Real Salt Lake on penalties in November.
