Will Turkey ever join the EU?

This week, the European Commission issued its progress report on Turkey. Despite hailing the constitutional reform as a positive development, Brussels said that Turkey was still lagging behind in areas like press freedom, freedom of expression and religion and the integration of the Kurdish minority in the country. But the main stumbling block remains of course the issue of Cyprus. So, will Turkey ever join the EU?
