Kashmir's ongoing battle for independence
In January 1990, Indian security forces opened fire on unarmed Kashmiris protesting for independence. Twenty years later, the movement for independence is still battling on. Up to 5,000 people have died in the conflict so far, with another 8,000 missing. Last month, unmarked mass graves were found across the state, where nearly 2,600 bodies have been abandoned.

Kashmir
We heard the socalled terrorism expert, very well manages to build the stories about kashmir not supported by ground realities of the disputed territory of J&K.
Kashmir
during this movement for independence as per state agencies report the toll is more than 50,000 deaths,But the exact figure by independent agencies is more than 1,00000.The toll of disappeared persons has crossed 10,000.The number of orphans is more than 20,000.No of widows is around 10,000.
JAMMU & KASHMIR
kashmiri will achieve their aim of Independent from both India & Pakistan with or without cooperation of these two said nations,And kashmiri are not after model of governance,They want complete Independent and freedom which rightly belong to them,Kashmiri are not in occupation of Indian or Pakistani lands,The longer this occupation goes on the bigger the price these two country will pay for it,No other option But Independent Jammu & Kashmir will do:
The report is biased. Kashmir
The report is biased. Kashmir is a sovereign part of India and atrocities carried out by Kashmir militant are not cited anywhere. Will the French media report action of French gendarmer against separatist movement in Basque region in same manner? Why don't they write that ongoing battle for Independence is on in basque region? Please maintain decorum and decency while reporting other countries internal matters.

The title of this post should be "Some Kashmiri seperatists' ongoing battle for cessation."
Kashmir situation is a creation of Pakistan's raw territorial ambition, and nothing else. In 1947, when India was partitioned, the rulers of princely states, including King Hari Singh of Kashmir, were given three choices: either to join India, or Pakistan, or become an independent nation. When Hari Singh was mulling his options, Pakistan broke the standstill agreement it signed with him, cutoff supplies to Kashmir, sent in paramilitary forces to try and steal Kashmir from the King by force. That forced King to seek India's help, and got the same after signing an instrument of accession with India. Therefore, legally, all of Hari Singh's princely state of Kashmir became an integral part of India. Pakistan waged a war in 1948 and grabbed a piece of land that is now Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and China attacked India and grabbed Aksai Chin (CoK) which was also part of Hari Singh's Kashmir (you map left Aksai Chin unmarked, an error that should be rectified, if you intend to be unbiased in your reporting.) In 1988 and 1989, Pakistan channelled 20 thousand Jihadists from the then concluded Afghan-Soviet war into Indian state of J&K (as it now exists), and made for a 20 year long Jihadist war against India. During that war, 400 thousand Kashmiri Pandits were driven out (and many were killed) by the Jihadists out of their ancient homeland of the Kashmir valley, to live as refugees in deprived camps in their own country. Most of the dead bodies in the unmarked graves are probably a mix of Jihadist infilitrators as well as the dead Pandits that were on the run. The pundits of Kashmir are arguably the worst victims of the past twenty years.
What the world community needs to do is demand Pakistan to return PoK (and China to return Cok) back to Indian control (as it was required to do immediately then, by UN resolutions), and force Pakistan to shut down 60 odd terrorist camps its ISI runs to train anti-India terrorists, so that India can develop the thus united Kashmir in peace and make the lives of Kashmiris (i.e. Kashmiri-Indians) better. That, along with India's ongoing help in rebuilding the civilian infrastructure in Afghanistan will help establish and maintain peace and stability of the region as well as advance the lives of ordinary peoples (that have so far been severely harmed by Pakistan's religion-coated territorial aggression and idiocy) better.
In any case, Pakistan has no legal grounds for holding any part of Hari Singh's Kashmir, including PoK.
