US troops in Haiti - for how long?

The history of US relations with Haiti has not always been a happy one, but Washington's intervention on the island has on this occasion met with almost universal international and domestic approval. And the United States has been quick to promise and deliver aid - one hundred million dollars for emergency relief, plus shelter, water, a hospital ship and logistical support. But what of the future?
