Egypt beat Algeria 4-0 to win spot in final against Ghana
Egypt vanquished Algeria 4-0 in the Africa Cup of Nations' semi-final on Thursday to reach the final against Ghana on Sunday.

REUTERS - Egypt crushed eight-man Algeria 4-0 in a foul-ridden African Nations Cup semi-final on Thursday to reach Sunday's final against Ghana.
The defending champions stayed on course for a record-breaking third successive title and took revenge on the Algerians who beat them in a World Cup playoff last November.
The much-anticipated clash between the two bitter rivals deteriorated before halftime and was over as a contest long before the final whistle.
Egypt were 1-0 ahead at the interval after Rafik Halliche had given away a penalty converted by Hosni Abd Rabou in the 39th minute.
The tackle brought out a second yellow card inside eight minutes for the Algeria defender, leaving his side a man down with some 50 minutes left to play.
Egypt overwhelmed Algeria in the second half but only made sure of their progress once Mohamed Zidan produced a stunning left-footed finish in the 65th minute.
Wild lunge
Six minutes later Algeria were down to nine men when a wild two-footed lunge from Nader Belhadj landed him a straight red card and a possible two-match ban, possibly ruling him out of the opening game of the World Cup.
Egypt toyed with their opponents after that, slowing the game down to pedestrian pace and picking it up again to allow substitutes Mohamed Abdelshafi and Mohamed Nagui to add late goals.
Abdelshafi scored from a tight angle after a strong run down the left in the 80th minute and Nagui finished from close range in stoppage time, his fourth goal of the tournament making him its leading scorer.

Goalkeeper Faouzi Chaouchi had also been sent off for a second yellow card, after a wild kick at an advancing Egyptian player with four minutes left.
He was fortunate not to have been sent off earlier when, disputing Egypt's penalty, he grabbed the Benin referee Bonaventure Coffi Codjia by the collar and head-butted him.
Egypt and Ghana will meet in their eighth Nations Cup final appearance each. Algeria will play Nigeria in Saturday's third place playoff in Benguela.

THE REF IS A WRONGER
First of all I would like to congratulate the Algerian players they are real fighters you have honoured our country and your supporters, a young team with the future ahead of you. As far as I am concerned the referee destroyed the game, referees always lean toward the Egyptian side WHY? Because the bosses at the CAF are Egyptians and the CAF is situated in Egypt.
I heard a comment by an Egyptian “WE WON THIS TIME BECAUSE THRE WERE NO TERRORISTS IN ANGOLA” referring to Algerian supporters. But this person forgot to mention that in the last Algeria v Egypt game in Angola the only terrorist on the pitch was the referee as he terrorised the Algerian players, because he was promised something by the CAF after his retirement as that was his last game. Egyptians are saying Algerian players played a dirty game??? Its SO FUNNY Egyptians make things as they go along because they don’t want to admit to the truth, they make me laugh. Algerian bus and players were stoned in Egypt but guess what? They said that the players faked it. HALLICHE didn’t touch their goal keeper but the goal keeper fell to the ground play acting as if HALLICHE really pushed or hit him. WHO is playing dirty game here. Then the referee had quick chat with the keeper and ran 40 yards to book HALLICH (STRANGE) because the referee should’ve consulted his assistant not the goal keeper. After the tackle of HALLICH in the 18 yards the referee took a bad decision by giving the penalty, it was a clean tackle as he went for the ball not the player. The referee made it worse by giving HALLICH second yellow and sending off. The Algerian goal keeper should’ve been sent off the fist time but I understand the frustration caused by the referee. 1) Yellow card for HALLICHE for no reason. 2) Giving that penalty. 3) Red card for HALLICH 4) Illegal execution of the penalty. Therefore I understand his frustration and I bet if the keeper saved the penalty the referee would’ve asked him to re-play it. From then on the game was destroyed thanks to the crooked, corrupt referee. As far as I am concerned Algeria is out of the tournament but didn’t loose fare and square. Question to the whole world WHAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT TOUNMENT IN THE WORLD, THAT ANY COUNTREY WOULD LOVE TO PARTICIPATE???? I KNOW YOU HAVE GUESSED. SURVEY 100% PEOPLE SAID THE WORLD CUP. Hey you Egyptians whether you like it or not Algeria will be among the best teams in the world to take part in that beautiful tournament while you sit in that crowded country of yours in the heat sweating and dreaming to be there. Message to Egypt NEVER INSULT OUR MARTYRES BECAUSE THE MARTYRES YOU INSULTED ARE BURIED IN SINAI FOR YOUR SAKE AND FREEDOM, AND A LITTLE REFRESHER HOW CAN YOU TEACH ARRABIC AND YOU ARE NOT ARABS YOURSELVES. TO THOSE IDIOTS WHO INSULTED ALGERIA GO BACK TO SCHOOL AND LEARN HISTORY. AN EGYPTIAN IN LONDON ASKED A POLICEMAN AND SAID “CAN I BARK HERE” THE POLICEMAN SAID IF YOU WANT TO BARK BARK THINKING HE WANTED TO BARK LIKE A DOG. THE EGYPTIAN PARKED HIS CAR THINKING HE HAD BEEN GIVEN PERMISSION TO PARK. WHEN HE RETURNED HE REALISED HE WAS CLAMPED.

but let me say my statement , it was going to be a bit fair on a referee not to deliver a yellow card mistakenly to Rafik , and avoid this time wasted the whole game was going to be totally different and this was going to prevent our young and enthusiastic players anger management going throug that unfair mistake of this fullish referee , thought we know that they should go through more experience to overcome that factor which i defenetly say that , at this stage of there career they could not afford for FIFA making mistakes and selecting unskilled referees especially on nation's cup .

Tunis has suffered his shinanigans as well ! so did Cameroon ? he helped u with an imaginary goal init ? whearas Algeria did a stunning match against Ivory coast 3-2 ! the Penalty should have been retaken + yellow card to the player ! so once u had the advantage that's it .. so STOP BRAGGING U funny PEOPLE coz we never c u outside the African cup ! Algeria may not be the greatest teams but yet they played well against Iv-coast and deserved their place in the semis !

No matter how bitter the Algerians might be after the humiliating defeat against Egypt, they should learn the lesson! The tactic of provoking their opponent in the hope that they lose their temper and concentration will not work in the World Cup! They have a good team but they need to concentrate on playing football! You will be representing the Arab World and should respect that.

Algeria deserved this punishment. When you play bullfighting or wrestling instead of soccer, you should be penalized. The goalkeeper should've been kicked out immediately for trying to hit the referee. When you play on the players' bodies with the intent to inflict harm, you should be kicked out immediately. When this is the way you play, you deserve to play with 8 players. Good job Egypt.

Why blame the referee?,the guy was doing his job and if he was firm enough he should have sent the algerian goalie off after the penalty incident. Algerians have no hope in the world cup if they don't clean up their act. The egyptian players were slick and professional in their game from the first minute. It is one thing to lose, b8ut a totally different thing to go to a match and start aiming to hurtfully and maliciously injure an opponent because he is winning. What does it teach kids about sports? I am an Algerian nationalist.I love football, but the Algerian national team let themselves the country and the supporters( who travelled all the way to Angola) down. Egypt concentrated on playing football,unfotunately our players were thinking about the past events.Which shows they badly prepared by the management team.They had the best opportunity to win the African cup,especially after the performance against Ivory Coast.As for the Algerian goalkeeper he was a disgrace,and was very lucky to have stayed that long on the pitch.And he had the audacity,when he was sent,to go toward the Algerians supporters to throw his as a memento, i would loved to been there to tell him what to do with his shirt.
