Ukraine’s missed revolution

Ukrainians are voting in their first Presidential Election since the Orange Revolution, the popular movement that swept Viktor Yushchenko to power five years ago. This time though, voters rejected Yushchenko in the first round of polling. So what is left of the Orange dreams?

Our reporters Virginie Herz and Gulliver Cragg travelled from West to East and found a nation despairing of its politicians, but prouder than ever of its culture and independence.

No more 'Made in China'?

They’re the worker bees of China’s labour market – the four million poorly paid men and women who drive Guangdong’s massive textile industry. But now they’re demanding higher pay and better conditions, and in response companies are relocating to countries where labour is even cheaper – like Vietnam, Cambodia and Bangladesh. "Made in China" is a worldwide brand, but are we now witnessing the beginning of its end?

U.,,.S, MISSES DIPLOMATIC UNIFYING OPPORTUNITY!

Having been based in the UKRAINE for a year or so and covering the ORANGE REVOLUTION and YUSCHENKOS assasination attempt, plus terrorism in the Crimea and the 2006 parliamentary elections..It is obvious that in this past election a major statement was made by Ukraine voters.
Sadly EASTERN Ukraine and Western Ukraine are deeply divided and after the invasion of Georgia, now Ukraine has a pro Russian president but one who won';t get much support from Georgia....The ORANGE REVOLUTION was a great unifying force for Ukraine but now there is deep division and with the START nuclear arms talks between the U.S. and RUSSIA and deep dissention betwen the U.S. and Russia, the U.S. missed the golden opportunity to help Ukraine stay leaning towards the west and it would have still been able to have good relations with Russia..but with a missle system of some kind still planned and PUTIN who will NOT bend down against Obama there ae going to be some major changes...Ukraine should have ben allowed an MAP plan for NATO membership, rather than traveling 18 and ahalf years backwards even if Russia is a more advanced and better country.
Tell that to people who live in Georgia.!!
..And, Ukraine is the second strongest military country in Europe and fights on all campaigns against terrorism--which still is a threat/....The U.S.,my country, made a big mistake going into Iraq and spending all that time and money when the U..S could have been helping a great country for the U..S and Europe and it is strong, prolific in production of exports, very skilled technological workers and a strong country who--by the way makes the best ICBM missles in Europe so when Putin talks about ratification of START with Obama, who do you think will win..especially with Ynaukovich now in office>>..And, Ukraine is loyal where Iraq will always be a questionmark as they conduct diplomacy with calculatotors in their hand....Ukraine offers its hard working people and strong efforts for Europeran unity and IS peraceful and producctive and does not have suicide bombers.
..They do have Vitali Klitchko however...Bon Jour...Journalist Wes Rodgers patriotstv.com..

Indeed

This world is interesting.

ORANGE REVOLUTION NOT MISSED

I AM AN INTERNATIONAL JOURNALIST AND MOST JOURNALISTS WORLDWIDE ARE SAYING THE ORANGE REVOLUTION WAS A FAILURE!

..IT WAS NOT!!..THE REASON THE GOOD EFFORTS OF THE ORANGE REVOLUTION WAS AN UPRISING OF THE STRONG HEARTED POPULACE OF UKRAINE IS BECAUSE THEY UNDERSTOOD THAT RUSSIA AND ITS AGENTS SENT BY THE KREMLIN DID NOT WANT TO LOSE THE MOST PRECIOUS COUNTRY OF THE FIFTEEN BREAKAWAY REPUBLICS FROM OLD SOVIET UNION.
...SO EVEN BEFORE YUSCHENKO WAS ALMOST ASSASINATED WHY--WE WONDER WHO DON'T WE-- ALMOST FROM THE BEGINNING THE SUFFERING PRESIDENT YSUCHENKO HAD AN UPHILL BATTLE JUST TO SURVIVE1
DIOXIN POISONING--THE DIOIN CAME FROM THE KAMERA LAB IN RUSSIA LAB 3
..THEN IN THE VERKHONA-UKRAINE PARLIAAMENT- AGENTS WERE DETERMINED TO STONEWALL M ALL EFFORST BY YUSDCHENKOS REGIME TO
JOIN NATO--THE EUROPEAN UNION AND DOTHER WORTTHWHILE EFFRORTS.
FACT IS..RUSSIA NEEDS UKRAINE---BUT UKRAINE DOES NOT NEED RUSSIA FOR WHAT--ANOTHER DRILL SERGEANT AND THE EUROPEAN UNION WAS SLOW TO ALLOW THE UKRAINE TO JOING THE " UNION"? BECAUSE IT IS AVERY PROLIFIC NATION, MANY GOOD EXPORTS TO OFFER FOR A GOOD PRICE, SKILLED TECHNOLOGIGAL LABOR WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN TOUGH COMPETITION FOR SOME E.U. COUNTRIES.
AS FOR NATO--THE UKRAINE IS THE ONLY COUNTRY IN EUROPE WHO HAS FOUGHT WITH THE U.S. AGAAINST EVERY MAJOR BATTLE AGAINST TERRORISM...AND LIKE IT OR NOT TERRORISM IS A " WORLDWIDE THREAT."
...WHERE WERE SOME OF THE CURRENT NATO MEMBERS TO FIGHT AND HELP WHEN THEY WERE NEEDED....THE UKRASINE FOR TWO YEARS HAS HAD LIVE ICBM MISSLES AIMED AT THEM BY RUSSIA ASNDF RUSSIA INVADE4D GEORGIA...NOT A DRIVE THRU TRIP AT A FAST FOOD PARLOR...THE FACT IS AT THGE END OF THE DAY THE E.U. SLAPPED RUSSIA ON THE WRISDTS AND BASICALLY SAID THAT IS NOT NICE INVADING GEOIRGIE--BUT THEY DID AND WHO WILL BE NEXT.
REGARDING CURRENT ELECTION IF PRO RUSSIAN BACKED YANUKOVICH GETS ELECTED REMEMBER THE UKRAINE IS THE BEST ICB, MISSLE MANUFACTURER IN EUROPE AND THIS ENTIRE SITUATIOON IS CXOMING ALONG WHEN RUSSI AND THE U.S. ARE IN THE MIDDLE OF START RATIFICATION TAALKS WITH RELEVANCE TO ACTIUVATED NUCLEAR STOCKPILES SIGNED INTO LAW JULY 31ST 1991 AND EXPIRED IN DECEMBER....THINK MR. PUTIN FORMER KGB CXHIEF IS THINKING!
..HAVING INTERVIEWED HIM I CAN TELL YOU THE BEGINNING HAS JUST BEGUN..AND THE PEOPLE OF UKRAINE WILL RISE AGAIN AND THERE
WILL NOW BE MUCH TENSION IN THE EUROPEAN COMMUNITY..BUT AFTER RUSSIA THE URKAINE IS THE LARGEST AND MOST MILIOTARILYT CAPABLE OF ALL E.U. NATION,..,MERCI BEAUCOUPS.,...DOBRY DEN..FROM ONE VERY VERY EXPERIENCED INVESTIGATIVE REPORTER..GO TO GOOPGLE AND TYPE UKRAINE ELECTION GIVE RUSSIA EDGE.,...WES RODGERS patriotstv.com and THE PHILADELPHIA BULLETIN....BON JOUR POUR MAINTENANT..MERCI!
