According to Libération, there are 392,700 members in the French Handball Federation. This compares with 2.3 million in the French Football Federation so clearly, handball is not France’s most popular sport but they are pretty successful at it.

Aujourd’hui en France calls it a “his-to-ri-que” victory. Les Bleus are now triple champions having won the Olympic title and the World Championships too.
