AFP - Jonathan Schwartz, the chief executive of Sun Microsystems, has resigned following its takeover by Oracle, announcing the move on Thursday with a haiku on Twitter.

"Today's my last day at Sun," Schwartz wrote on his Twitter feed @OpenJonathan. "I'll miss it."

"Seems only fitting to end on a haiku," he said.

"Financial crisis/Stalled too many customers/CEO no more," Schwartz wrote.

Oracle competed its acquisition of Sun, a one-time Silicon Valley star and developer of the popular Java programming language, on January 27.
