Regional elections: "France in Pink"

In today’s French press review, we focus on the upcoming regional elections.

The left wing newspaper Libération reveals that 60% of the French believe the left wing party will win the next regional elections.

Socialists already have 20 out of 22 regions in France and they have vowed to win all 22 regions.

Meanwhile, the Christian newspaper La Croix reports about a government meeting about National Identity, that’s due to take place later today about National Identity

French politicians are currently debating on what it means to be French.
It was the immigration Minister, Eric Besson, who started this debate a few months ago and it has caused a stir in France.

Le Progres de Lyon says it’s a “pointless and ridiculous” debate. “There is a national identity but let’s not forget the regional, European, religious and sexual identity” writes the paper.

In other news, Le Parisien reveals that transport is the first cause of stress for workers in France and Le Figaro gives us tips on how to deal with jet lag when you travel abroad.

Finally, DNA tests of the Egyptian King Tutankhamon could reveal further secrets about the country’s Pharaoh era.
