After two years, the findings of the Egyptian Mummy Project were finally revealed to the world. The project, which entailed the DNA testing of several prominent Egyptian mummies, confirmed that his father was pharaoh Akhenaten but that his mother is most likely not Nefertiti. Even more stunning, the tests revealed that he was not killed but that he actually died of malaria.
