New Ivory Coast government includes opposition
Ivory Coast authorities have named a new government that includes the main opposition parties, a step seen as key in getting the West African country back on track ahead of elections expected to be held at the end of April.

REUTERS - The Ivory Coast authorities named a new government on Tuesday that includes both main opposition parties, a step seen as key to getting the West African country back on track for elections.
The announcement follows days of violent demonstrations in the top cocoa producer in protest against President Laurent Gbagbo's decision on Feb. 12 to dissolve the government and the electoral commission -- a move that effectively delayed a poll loosely set for March.
The secretary general of the presidency announced the formation of the new government at a news conference.
Public anger is mounting over years of delays to elections but cocoa output has remained largely unaffected by the unrest. The military has opened fire on some protesters, killing activists and raising tension still further.
