Payback time for Arsenal and Fiorentina
After losing their respective first leg ties amid controversial referee decisions, Arsenal and Fiorentina look for revenge at home against Porto and Bayern Munich.
Arsenal - Porto FC at Emirates Stadium
First leg result: Porto FC 2 - 1 Arsenal
Teams review:
Arsenal: Along with William Gallas and striker Robin Van Persie, Arsenal will also miss captain Cesc Fabregas. The club's top scorer (17 goals, 15 assists) has been ruled out after a hamstring injury during a match with Burnley last weekend.
Porto FC: More good news than bad for the Dragons. As midfielder Fernando is ruled out for injury, Raul Meireles, Nuno, Fucile, Rolando and Brazilian star striker Hulk are back in the team.
Stats:
In their last 24 European encounters, Porto have qualified to the next round after winning the first leg. But Porto has a pretty bad record in London. Their last experience this season was a 1-0 losss to Chelsea in the group stage (1-0). Last year, Porto left the English capital with their worst result in the competition: losing 4-0 against.......Arsenal.
French players to watch: Samir Nasri, Gael Clichy, Abou Diaby, Bacary Sagna
Last results:
Arsenal 3-1 Burnley
FC Porto 2-2 Olhanense
Fiorentina - Bayern Munich at Stadio Artemio Franchi
First leg result: Bayern Munich 2 - 1 Fiorentina
Team review:
Fiorentina: Coach Cesare Prandelli can count on all his star players for the game except Andrian Mutu. The Romanian striker is out following his pending doping case.
Bayern Munich: Once again, French forward Franck Ribery may be ruled out. Louis Van Gaal has so far admitted that Ribery has "got a little problem". No more details are available but the rest of the first eleven are fit.
Stats: Fiorentina won all their home games in the group stage while Bayern Munich has seven wins and three draws in their last 13 away games.
French players to watch: Sébastien Frey (Fiorentina), Franck Ribery (Bayern) is uncertain
Last results:
Fiorentina 1-2 Juventus
FC Köln 1-1 Bayern
Last 16 first leg
