The Holocaust - Can France face its past? (part 2)

La Rafle is a film just out in France that has opened a whole Pandora’s Box of emotions over France’s role in the Holocaust. It deals with events at the Vélodrome d’Hiver, a building near the Eiffel Tower in the 2WW where 13,000 Jews including children were rounded up and sent to Auschwitz. French Police helped in the process. Is France fully facing up to one of the darkest hours in its history?

A debate hosted by Mark Owen with guests:

Bernard BESSERGLIK, Film critic
Barbara HOUDIZ, Founder and director of the Books of the Jewish Worlds annual festival in Paris
Robert PAXTON, Historian and Emeritus professor at the University of Columbia in New York (via satellite from NYC, USA)

Programme prepared by Bilal Tarabey, Antonio Oliveira e Silva and Perrine Desplats
