Bennati takes lead in Tirreno-Adriatico

AFP - Daniele Bennati of Liquigas won the third stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico on Friday after a 159km ride from San Miniato to Monsumanno Terme

Italian Bennati timed 3hr 54min 09sec to edge out Lampre compatriot Alessandro Petacchi and Austrian Bernhard Eisel of the Columbia team, retaining the overall lead in the process.

Bennati now has a 4sec lead over Linus Gerdemann of the Milram team and leads Tom Boonen of Quick Step by the same margin.
