Katanga's forgotten people

Like many mixed-race children in Congo, they were born of a Japanese father who came to work in the mines of Katanga in south-east of the country. Today, they accuse their fathers of wanting to kill them so as not to leave behind any traces when they returned to Japan. FRANCE 24 met these men and women seeking the recognition that has always been denied them.

Despite US President Barack Obama’s promise to close the prison at Guantanamo Bay, 171 men are still locked up there. Our reporters went to the two villages closest to the barbed wire surrounding the military base and met the Cubans living beside these awkward neighbours. It is a sensitive zone, just a few metres from the American watchtowers.

The japanis govt don't have to ponish this men they were afraid duo to the law what happen was act of nature but the killings of the babies was horrible,japanis govt shoud take reponsibility and pay those families ASAP.

We needs to know the measures taken by the congolese governement about the single chinese in the country.

Katanga's forgotten people

These children/ women victims of Japanese racism can get help through the organization "Human Rigths Watch", the United Nations or the African Union. The Congolese government can't be of any help.
