The death of a French policeman near Paris on Tuesday has brought into sharp focus France's contribution to Spain's fight against the Basque separatist group, ETA. Jean-Serge Nérin was shot when his patrol stopped a group of people suspected of stealing cars. The incident marks a grim milestone. It's the first time that ETA has killed a French policeman.
