Nuclear arms control: US and Russia close in on treaty
US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton held talks in Moscow on Thursday with her Russian counterpart, Sergei Lavrov, aimed at accelerating progress towards a new nuclear arms reduction treaty. Today she meets Dmitry Medvedev. The aim is to replace the START treaty, which expired last December, by slashing the number of weapons each country holds to between 1500 and 1675.
