The Takreem Awards’ mission is to give regional and international recognition to Arab personalities whose successes have contributed to the life of the Arab community and beyond. The “Woman of the Year” category aims to honour inspirational Arab women, pioneers of change and to celebrate female empowerment.


Nominated Head of the Arabic Service at “Audiovisuel Extérieur de France” in 2009, Nahida Nakad is Deputy Director of FRANCE 24’s Arabic Service and Deputy Director of news and programs at the Arabic speaking radio station Monte Carlo Doualiya. She is an Italian-Lebanese journalist who studied in California and began her career in London before moving to Rome and then to Paris. She soon became a senior correspondent for TF1 covering conflicts in the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans.


She is also the author of two books: “Un couple dans la guerre” (Calmann-Levy, 2004) and “La Galerie Seman” (Calmann - Levy, 2008).
