The Shan rebels of Burma have been fighting for independence for 50 years. As elections approach, the ruling junta wants to crush opponents. It’s gearing up for attack. But so is the other side: 10,000 Shan insurgents are prowling the remote highlands near the Thai border. France 24 went deep into the jungle to bring you their story.

every people should be able to form their own country ,we thought everybody knew that from last century
there should be a pleibiscite about their independence ,like for the iugurs ,the kurds(promised since versailles treaties),tibet,flanders,catalonia or any other
