Controversy has broken out in France following the release on Tuesday of an Iranian man convicted for the 1991 murder outside Paris of Shapour Bakhtiar, the last Iranian Prime minister to serve under the Shah. This decision comes a few days after Iran freed French academic Clotilde Reiss. Did the French government strike a deal with the Iranian authorities?
