BP pays a heavy price for its so-called 'black gold'

Six weeks after the Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded, BP is still trying to stem the flow of oil leaking into the sea. The first stage of the firm's latest attempt to fix the broken pipe has been successful, but the hardest part is yet to come. Meanwhile, 3 million litres of oil are spilling into the Gulf of Mexico every day, while an area measuring 25,000 square kilometres has been contaminated.
