The massive oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has seen oil giant BP at the centre of public and political anger in the United States. Its share price has been in freefall, and criminal and civil investigations are on the way. BP's carefully cultivated corporate image lies in tatters, and many in the PR business have criticised the way it has managed the crisis.
