Prisons through the ages
Our daily Culture magazine lifts the veil on the harsh and rough environment of French prisons. Could a photograph really help us understand the brutality of the place? The Musée Carnavalet in Paris is currently showing “L’impossible photographie, prisons parisiennes”. Jacqueline Salmon, one of the photographers, explains to Eve Jackson the difficulties she has encountered during her work in jail. Then, a masterpiece of dance being held at the Opéra Bastille in Paris: Kaguyahime.
