“Paul the Octopus was right”

In today’s international press review, we focus on the World Cup and a new celebrity: Paul the Octopus. “Oracle pulpo” has become a star across the planet thanks to his game predictions.

Spain’s victory against Germany was on the front page of El Pais and Marca. Both newspapers are proud to say Spain is “la mejor”.
 
Libération and L’Equipe say Sunday’s final will be a historic event as none of the finalists have won the competition. Spain will face Holland on Sunday.
 
As for the German press, Kicker says its country is keeping its head high.
 
The British newspaper The Telegraph gives us ten facts about Paul the Octopus. According to The Globe and Mail, the animal is expected to predict which team will win the final.
 
And finally, ten spy suspects arrested in the US last month could be swapped with Russia. The New York Times explains the consequences of such a swap.
