Traditionally, football victories also bring a boost to national unity. That's especially important in Spain, a country with 17 autonomous regions. The team's victory comes at a crucial time - over the weekend, more than a million people held a march in Barcelona, to call for greater autonomy for the Catalan region. But Spain's win could also be an important morale boost for a country badly hit by the economic crisis.
