Key witness in Bettencourt case “received money”

According to the satirical weekly The Canard Enchaîné, Liliane Bettencourt’s former accountant who claims that the L’Oréal heiress gave illegal donations to politicians was given €400,000 by Bettencourt’s estranged daughter. The revelations continue in a drama that has gripped France. WEDNESDAY, 21st JULY 2010

Le Parisien: A L’Oreal shareholder has taken court action against artist François-Marie Banier’s his excessive consultant fees for the company. Banier is at the centre of another court case gripping France. The daughter of Liliane Bettencourt, the heiress to the L’Oréal fortune, has accused Banier of taking advantage of her mother in procuring gifts said to be worth some €1 billion.
