Last Thursday's raid in the Malian desert against Islamist radicals immediately triggered fears over the fate of a 78-year old French aid worker. Now those fears are confirmed. Michel Germaneau, abducted back in April, was killed by a group calling itself Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb. So who are these Islamist radicals?
