Olympique Marseille topped Paris Saint-Germain 5-4 after penalty kicks on Wednesday in the Champions Trophy, played between the winner of the French Cup and the national champion.

AP - Marseille beat Paris Saint-Germain 5-4 in a penalty shootout on Wednesday to win the Champions Trophy after it ended 0-0 in regulation time.

The preseason match pitted French champion Marseille against French Cup winner PSG.

No extra time was played and Marseille won the match when Edouard Cisse converted his penalty after PSG winger Ludovic Giuly's spot kick was saved by goalkeeper Steve Mandanda.

PSG had more chances to win the game, but striker Peguy Luyindula and Brazilian midfielder Nene were wasteful with their finishing late on.

Marseille defender Souleymane Diawara limped off with a left thigh injury just before halftime.
