French Prime Minister finally weighs in on the Roma debate

After weeks of keeping mum on this controversial policy issue, François Fillon has finally broken his silence. In a carefully-worded press release, the Prime Minster called for restraint on all sides on the issues of immigration and security. Also in today’s French papers: a Moroccon blogger causes a stir in falsely attributing remarks about Ramadan to Sarkozy and French ambassadors gather in Paris in a sombre mood for their annual “conclave”: WEDNESDAY, 25th AUGUST 2010
