Iran: backing down over stoning?

Iran says it may now commute the stoning sentence for Sakineh Mohammadi-Ashtiani, accused of adultery and complicity in the murder of her husband, to hanging. This comes after an international outcry over the initial sentence. What does this case tells us about justice in Iran today, 31 years after the creation of the Islamic Republic?
