Living in the land of their fathers
Malians are the largest group of black African immigrants living in France. Unlike other African communities, many don't intend to stay in France for good; they stay just long enough to secure a pension when they retire. But leaving France can be difficult for their children, who have often been born there. They are sometimes forced to leave France, or are lied to, finding out at the end of their holiday in Africa that they've actually moved there permanently.
