France - media : a "Sarkogate"?

Yesterday, France's newspaper of record, Le Monde, declared war to president Nicolas Sarkozy. In a front page story, Le Monde accuses the Elysées palace of violating the law protecting journalists from revealing their sources followng stories about the role of Labor minister Eric Woerth in the so-called l'Oreal heiress scandal. It claims the presidency ordered the counter-espionnage agency to try to find out who was leaking documents…
