Communism: is the Long March over? (part 2)

"The Cuban system no longer works for Cuba." These are Fidel Castro’s word to The Atlantic, an American newspaper. The last living symbol of the old Communist world doubts communism still works. At the age of 83, after illness and handing over the reigns of power to his brother Raúl, Fidel Castro has come to a conclusion that his faithful followers might find hard to take.

A debate with Mark Owen and guests

Jim COHEN, Professor of political Sciences at Paris VIII University and Lecturer at the IHEAL (l'Institut des Hautes Etudes de l'Amérique Latine)
Francis PISANI, Former correspondant for Le Monde in Latin America
Jose AZEL, Senior research associate at the Institute for Cuban and Cuban-American Studies and author of Mañana in Cuba: The Legacy of Castroism and Transitional Challenges for Cuba (by phone from Miami, USA)

Programme prepared by Yi Song and Perrine Desplats
