Brazil picks successor to Lula

Latin America's largest country chose a new president Oct. 31 after eight years of Lula leadership. The runoff poll pit the ruling Workers' Party candidate Dilma Rousseff against former Sao Paulo state governor Jose Serra, with Rousseff emerging victorious.
