The Calais 'jungle', one year on
A year ago, French police broke up makeshift refugee camps outside the northern port of Calais. Hundreds of migrants were there to try to cross the channel to the United Kingdom. Today, the migrants are still there. There may be less of them, but this is because groups are now dispersed all along the coastline from Cherbourg in France to Ostend in Belgium.
