Who will succeed President Hu Jintao? The Chinese leader is expected to retire as head of the ruling Communist Party in 2012, and as President the following year. There is much speculation about his successor. Many believe Xi Jinping, currently Vice President, will take over. He has just been appointed to a key military position, a decision that reinforces expectations that he will become the country's next leader.
